Time tracking

Statutory time registration, without an HR system

The EU Court of Justice requires employers to record employees' daily working time in an objective, reliable system: the CCOO judgment, implemented across the EU country by country. Verkta does it in 10 seconds from the phone, no login, no app, no rota planning.

Who does the requirement apply to?

The duty stems from the CJEU's CCOO judgment (C-55/18) and the Working Time Directive (2003/88/EC): every member state must require employers to measure daily working time. Spain has required daily records since 2019, Denmark since 1 July 2024, and Germany's Federal Labour Court has confirmed the same duty. Records must be objective, reliable and accessible, retained for documentation (5 years in Denmark), and able to show compliance with the 48-hour rule (average over a 4-month reference period). Only genuinely autonomous workers can be exempted after a concrete assessment.

How it works

1 ยท Add your employees

Pull them straight from Verkta's employee register, bulk import from a pasted list takes under a minute.

2 ยท Share one personal link

Each employee gets their own registration link (or uses the employee portal where everything lives). No login, no app to install.

3 ยท Overview and documentation

Weekly overview, automatic alerts and CSV export. The documentation is ready if a dispute or inspection ever comes up.

Personal link, no login

Every employee gets one link that works straight from the phone. Today's hours are registered in 10 seconds with quick buttons, or corrected later if a day was missed.

Weekly overview with deviations

See the whole week per employee with automatic deviation from norm hours and highlighting of missing entries, so you can follow up in time.

48-hour alerts

Verkta computes the 4-month average and warns before an employee hits the Working Time Directive's limit, before it becomes a case.

CSV export (the documentation duty)

Pull all entries per period for accountants, disputes or inspections. Data is stored securely in the EU for 5 years.

Part of the employee portal

Time registration lives in the same personal portal as the employee's policies, courses and certificates, one link for everything.

No rota planning required

Verkta is pure registration and documentation. Keep your existing scheduling, and skip buying a full HR system.

Every feature, in detail

Full transparency about what time registration does. Every line corresponds to something the system actually does.

Registration for the employee

  • Personal link, no login

Every employee gets one personal link that works straight from the phone. No app, no password.

  • Today's hours in 10 seconds

Quick buttons with the typical hour counts: tap, confirm, done. Odd hours can always be entered manually.

  • Correct retroactively

Forgotten days can be registered and corrected afterwards. Reality is not always same-day.

  • Own history

Employees see their own registrations and can verify them themselves.

  • Part of the employee portal

Time registration lives in the same personal portal as policies, courses and certificates, one link for everything.

  • Email reminders

Officers can send a friendly reminder to employees who are behind, with one click.

Overview for the responsible

  • Weekly overview per employee

See the whole week of registered hours, flip between weeks, and compare the total against the weekly norm.

  • Deviation from norm hours

Every employee has their weekly norm (e.g. 37 hours), deviations show directly in the overview.

  • Missing registrations highlighted

Days without registration are visible immediately, so you can follow up before the gaps grow.

  • 48-hour alerts

The system computes the rolling 4-month average and warns BEFORE an employee hits the Working Time Directive's limit, not after.

  • CSV export

Pull all registrations per period, for accountants, payroll, disputes or inspections.

  • Employees from the register

Time registration is created directly from the employee register. Names are maintained in one place, and mass activation exists.

  • Activate and deactivate

Departed employees are deactivated with one click. The history is kept as documentation.

Legal & compliance

  • Built for the EU requirement

The CJEU's CCOO judgment (C-55/18) requires an objective, reliable and accessible system for daily working time. That is exactly what the registration delivers.

  • National implementations

Denmark's requirement has applied since 1 July 2024 and covers employees as a rule, the law page explains the exemptions for autonomous workers.

  • The 48-hour rule documented

The Working Time Directive's limit (average over 4 months) is computed continuously, the documentation exists if a dispute arises.

  • Data available in disputes

Registrations can be produced and exported, in overtime cases, missing registration now weighs against the employer.

Security & operations

  • Encryption throughout

All traffic is TLS-encrypted, and data at rest is encrypted in EU data centres in Frankfurt.

  • Random registration tokens

The personal links use long random tokens. They cannot be guessed or enumerated.

  • Spam protection on the registration page

Rate limiting with hashed IPs protects the public surfaces.

  • Organisational separation

Every query is bound to your organisation, data cannot cross between customers.

  • Audit log on changes

Creating and changing employees in time registration is logged.

  • Certified infrastructure

Verkta runs on ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certified infrastructure (Vercel, Neon). Verkta itself is not yet certified, we say so honestly until that changes.
